A Friendly Visit!

One of my good friends Sean has spent the last four years serving our country in the Marines. His term is up and he's moving home to Black Hawk. He flew another good friend of ours Adam down to North Carolina where he was posted to help him move and drive one of his cars home for him. They stopped for a weekend and we spent our time taking place in random shenanigans and maybe a drink or two. They met some of our new friends here and a good time was had by all!

It was good seeing them and it reminds me what true friendship is and that it can't be weakened by time or distance.

So I have a four day weekend so I decided to go visit Christine and her family. Really excited and will defiantly post pictures when I get back home.

Peoria….My New Home!!

So obviously I made the move out to Illinois to move in with Jake and his girlfriend Stacia. They moved down here last May so Jake could work at a dealership out here. He got laid off just before I got here and is looking around…found a job delivering pizzas for Pizza Hut and actually is making decent money with his hourly and his tips. Stacia works at Ruby Tuesdays and is in training to be a shift manager. I have been looking around for a good career starter of a job. Been in contact with a few businesses and am going through the processes. Our house is a little two bedroom, it has a one car garage and a fenced in backyard. Jake still has his dog OJ and Stacia has a cat named Thor. We all fit in our little house pretty well, surprisingly. I’m liking Peoria and am meeting new people and making new friends. All I need now is a good job that I enjoy! :-)

    

Beginning of a new life!!! Very exciting stuff here people…

So after my summer in Rapid I figured I would be just as unemployed if I stayed there as I would be if I moved somewhere else. Why not move in with a person that has been there for me a lot throughout my life…I figured Jake had an extra room and I needed somewhere to sleep, works out if you ask me. I have moved in and not regretted a second of it since. Jake got laid off from his job that he moved here for but his girlfriend Stacia has a good job and that along with their lease is enough for us to remain. I have began job searching and have a few good leads that I plan to to pursue fully. In all honesty I have not done much since I have been here other than sleep in, drink a beer now and again, play frisbee golf, and work out and go for runs and only one bike ride, with the emphasis on drinking and sleeping in :-). Updates on the job search are hopefully not far away and with be posted soon.

Another summer in Rapid

So post graduating college I was offered a position at Black Hills Harley Davidson selling motorcycles for them. I took the position and had a good time doing it for about a month until I had problems with the way the sales manager ran the sales department so I decided the parts department was a better fit for what I wanted and spent the rest of the summer there including the Rally and the end of August. I learned a lot about what I want out of a career including how income and day-to-day satisfaction makes a difference. I had a great time strengthened a lot of relationships and as always created new life long friendships.

Visiting Peoria…

One of my best friends Jake got a job in Peoria, IL and since it was so close to La Crosse I figured I had to stop by. Jake’s girl friend Stacia moved with him so he wasn’t alone and they got a pretty cool two bedroom house and have met some good people since they have been there. I spent a week there just hanging out meeting people and seeing things. We went to the Zoo and river front and a few other places and had a good time…
